What you want is changing shape
21 Mar 2027, 1:09 pm – 15 Apr 2027, 9:38 am
A short, bright window where your tastes loosen up and money, comfort, and self-worth start asking different questions.
Something in your wanting has gone quieter and stranger at the same time. The things you usually reach for — the usual meal, the usual purchase, the usual comfort — feel a little less magnetic this month. In their place, an odd curiosity: what would I enjoy if nobody was watching, if it didn't have to make sense?
That is the quality of this stretch. Your sense of what's worth having is loosening its grip on habit. You might find yourself drawn to things that don't fit your old idea of your own taste — an unusual object, a different kind of evening, a way of spending that you'd normally talk yourself out of. Part of you wants to experiment. Another part is keeping score.
Because the scorekeeping is loud right now. There's a friction in the background, a push-pull between what you desire and what you fear losing. A conversation about money, or about something you own, or about what you're owed, may carry more charge than it should. The tension isn't really about the thing itself. It's about a deeper question underneath: do I trust what I have? Am I building something solid, or just holding on?
Notice how your mind is quick to join the conversation too. Thinking and wanting are sitting in the same room this month, talking to each other constantly. That's useful — you can name what you actually value in plain words, maybe for the first time in a while. It's also a trap, because analysis can dress up anxiety as prudence. Not every hesitation is wisdom. Sometimes it's just an old fear wearing a sensible coat.
Ask yourself: is this a real no, or a rehearsed one?
The deeper current here runs toward change. What you're valuing and unvaluing right now connects to something larger you've been quietly outgrowing — old securities, old definitions of enough. This window doesn't force that shift. It just makes it easier to see which of your attachments still fit and which are keeping their shape out of habit alone.
So a practical posture: spend a little, but spend it on noticing. Buy the thing, take the person out, book the odd evening — and watch what it does to you. Every choice you make this month is data about who you're becoming. You don't need to resolve anything. You need to observe honestly, resist the urge to argue yourself out of a genuine want, and let the unusual ones through the door.
And when the friction shows up — the tense exchange, the anxious spreadsheet moment — don't rush to settle it. Sit with the discomfort long enough to hear what it's actually protecting. Usually it's guarding a value you haven't said out loud yet.
This is a short chapter. Let it do its work: less certainty about what you want, more honesty about why.
