Chandra lagna meaning: houses counted from the Moon

Also called: Moon lagna, Ravi lagna (Sun lagna)

Definition

Chandra lagna means the Moon taken as the reference point of a chart: houses are counted from the Moon's sign instead of from the lagna. It is also called the Moon lagna.

In Chandra lagna, every house is counted from the sign holding the Moon rather than from the lagna. Because the Moon signifies the mind, houses from the Moon show matters from the mind's point of view, such as how happy or ambitious you are.

The same logic applies to Ravi lagna (Sun lagna), which counts houses from the Sun and shows matters from the soul's point of view.

P.V.R. Narasimha Rao (PVR) holds that houses counted from the lagna show the 'true self', and that Chandra lagna 'should not be ignored'.
